I am a senior lecturer and researcher at the Swedish School of Textiles, University of Borås, holding a PhD in Fine Arts in Design. My artistic and practice-based research operates at the intersection of fashion design, human–computer interaction (HCI), and media arts, with a particular focus on how digital technologies transform materiality, embodiment, and design practice within textiles and fashion.

In my doctoral work, Designing Expressions of Body-Fabric-Space Intra-Actions (2024), I developed alternative ontological perspectives on digital fashion design, informed by agential realism. I examined how body, fabric, and space co-constitute one another in digitally constituted environments, and how these intra-actions can be designed, enacted, and experienced beyond the constraints of traditional physical processes.

I engage in scholarly discourse through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and exhibition contributions in design research and HCI contexts. In addition, I engage in interdisciplinary collaborations that integrate generative systems, movement translation, and AI-driven processes into fashion design, while also critically reflecting on the implications of digitalisation for design education and practice.

As for research projects I am currently involved in, I lead one of five research areas with a particular focus on design in the eight-year TexAI project. Funded with 100SEK, the project established a research profile at the University of Borås for AI-driven innovation in the textile and fashion field together with partnering industry experts. I am also a member of the two-year project ACTiveWear, which advances the MFA design education with a focus on performance wear design together with partnering industry experts in the field.
